Senior Instructor

Royal Akarana Yacht Club, based out of Auckland, are looking for a handful of strong and experienced coaches to come out to New Zealand and help us deliver our massive sailing program over the southern hemisphere summer of 2024/2025. We currently run the biggest sailing program in the country (one of the biggest in the southern hemisphere), this summer just gone we had over 1000 individual sailors involved in one of our programs! This requires a big, social team on the ground day to day to help deliver all this sailing, which is hopefully where you come in. 

We are looking for instructors who are experienced across learn-to-sail, race pathways or both, who have a decent amount of coaching under their belts and are looking to bolster that experience in our team. We deliver classes across Optimists, RS Feva, ILCAs, 29ers, Starlings, 420s and the school team racing circuit. As part of our full-time team, you would be working between 30 and 40 hours a week at the club, helping to deliver these courses. Our season runs from late September through to early April (with a summer shutdown over Christmas/New Years for around 3 weeks, so make sure to explore NZ!). We are looking for coaches who are competent across a range of classes who can help progress our learn-to-sail & learn-to-race programs or who have a specific level of experience in certain classes who can take our sailors to the next level.
